Hello Team,
I understand that Google Ads API v18 was scheduled to sunset on August 20th. We seem to have missed the official announcement, but we’ve noticed that v18 requests are still functioning in one of our environments even after the sunset date.
Could you confirm whether the deprecation is being rolled out gradually or if this is unexpected behavior? Also, could you point us to the best channel or notification mechanism to stay updated on such announcements in the future?
Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.
Please note that v18 is sunsetted on August 20, 2025. Any API requests that are made using v18 will fail. So, I would suggest you upgrade to the latest version, ’v21’, as soon as possible to benefit from new features. You may refer to this documentation on deprecation and sunset for more information regarding the specific deprecation and sunset dates for each available version.
I would like to inform you that you will receive notification about the version deprecation when your developer token was used to make requests to the Google Ads API. Also, another way is to follow our Blog Post and Release Notes to get information on the latest version releases and changes that happen in the Google Ads API.
I hope it helps!
