Value Track Parameter for Asset Groups (API V15)

Hello,


One of our advertisers uses ValueTrack parameters like {campaignid} or {adgroupid}. They want to know if it will be possible to use ValueTrack parameters for the asset_group with API V15? It is important for data modelling.

They tried to use {asset_group_id} or {asset_group} in the tracking template but there was no value given back from these parameters.

By reviewing your concern, I understand that you are facing an issue with using ValueTrack parameters for asset groups in Google Ads API v15. Please note that ValueTrack parameters are not currently supported for asset_groups in Google Ads API v15. These parameters are designed for tracking purposes at the campaign or ad group level. And ValueTrack parameters are used to dynamically insert values into your ad URLs when someone clicks on them. This allows you to track specific details about your ad clicks, such as what keyword triggered the ad or what creative was shown.

However, asset_groups in Google Ads primarily deal with managing the collection of assets (text, images, videos) used to build your ads. They don't directly control the final URL displayed in the ad. This is why ValueTrack parameters wouldn't be directly applicable at the asset group level.
