Offline Conversion API error "Conversion actions which use the one-per-click counting type cannot be used with gbraid or wbraid"

Hi,

I'm using ConversionActionService to create offline conversions, which works for clicks with gclid parameter, but I get this error when instead of gclid parameter there's a gbraid/wbraid in the click url : 

"Conversion actions which use the one-per-click counting type cannot be used with gbraid or wbraid"

My offline conversion action is a sign-up and should be set with a Count one setting.

Is this possible or my only way is to switch Counting to multiple conversions?

The ConversionAction resource's counting_type attribute does not appear to be read or output only. You can try performing an UPDATE operation to modify your conversion actions counting type.

However, I would recommend that you reach out as well to the Google Ads Product Support team, to clarify the compatibility of updating the counting type based on our conversion action category.

Hi Peter, thanks but that's not where the problem is.

I'm not trying to update ConversionAction by API, I'm using Conversion API to create offline conversions, this response "Conversion actions which use the one-per-click counting type cannot be used with gbraid or wbraid" is an error I get when I use ClickConversion type with ConversionUploadService. ConversionActionService is used as a part.

I'm using this code: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/samples/upload-offline-conversion and for wbraid/gbraid click identifiers I'm getting the error response described.

Moving forward, it appears that you have encountered the ONE_PER_CLICK_CONVERSION_ACTION_NOT_PERMITTED_WITH_BRAID error. This means conversion actions which use the one-per-click counting type cannot be used with gbraid or wbraid. Having said that, I would suggest using different counting type, specifically the MANY_PER_CLICK. In addition, you can use this conversion_action report to retrieve and check conversion action instances.

Ok, I'll update to Many per click then and see if that solves the issue.
