Exclude removed ad groups from campaign_audience_view

I am trying to get performance data for audiences using the campaign_audience_view. I am able to get all the data I need, filtered by enabled and paused campaigns. 

However, I also want to add a predicate for enabled and paused ad groups (exclude removed ad groups). I was able to do this in the AdWords API Audience Performance Report. But I can't do the same thing in the Ads API (the ad_group field is not available in that view and adding a where clause for ad_group.status causes and error).

Is there a way to exclude removed ad groups from that report?

Hi Stepanian,

Thank you for reaching out. If you would like to query ad group related audience data, you would need to query the ad_group_audience_view resource instead. This would allow you to set the predicate on the ad group level.

The ad_group_audience_view provides the performance data for ad group level audience criteria. What we need is the performance data for campaign level audience criteria, which I can get through campaign_audience_view, but I need to exclude data for removed ad groups.

I am afraid that this is not possible as campaign_audience_view only focus on retrieving data and statistic aggregated by campaign and audience criterion.

We are able to filter with ad group status in the Audience Performance Report using the AdWords API. Is there a workaround in the new Ads API?

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, the data in campaign_audience_view is aggregated by campaign and audience criterion so the ad group could not be used as a filter. Please keep using the Audience Performance Report if it works.
