How to add custom question ? Length issue

Hi! 

I need to request custom question for lead forms: "Please confirm that you agree to receive marketing communications about offers, news and events by email. (Yes/No)"

but Google doesn't allow now length more than 60. It changed recently. Could you please help me to request this question with its length? Category (General or Business)

I tried to do this from 113-768-6584 account. Actually I need this question accessible from 945-810-6199

Thank you for reaching out to our support team.

In the Google Ads API, and as per checking the LeadFormCustomQuestionField documentation, the custom_question_text currently does not explicitly specify a character limit. Checking our release notes, no related changes have also been recently included.

However, if this has been applied in the Google Ads UI, and since the Google Ads API mirrors what is available in the UI, then this limit should already be one of the validations in the back end.

Also, if you are creating this via the Google Ads UI, I would recommend that you reach out as well to the Google Ads Product Support team, via this link, for further guidance.

Is it possible to download or get custom questions list for lead forms by calling some of Google Ads API ?
I mean this list (on the picture)

You may try using the asset report and including the asset.lead_form_asset.custom_question_fields field. I was able to retrieve custom question information when I used this suggestion so you can try it on your end as well.

Hi Ernie,

I tired this: SELECT asset.lead_form_asset.custom_question_fields FROM asset WHERE asset.type='LEAD_FORM'  
but I've got custom_questions_fileds only those used in any of lead forms for the customer ID, but is there a possibility to get all predefined list of custom questions (that one that we can see when create lead form with Google Ads UI)?

Hi Anna,

Thank you for your reply.

The lead form asset data are generally only available via the asset and lead_form_submission_data reports of the Google Ads API. That said, the predefined questions from your UI screenshot that are yet to be included in an asset resource, are not supported currently in the API's reports.

You can however, choose from the list of input types listed in the fields > input_type , for what you can use when creating the lead form asset.
