Mutation on video objects

Hello! Could please check my thread on the Scripts forum?

There is question about video objects mutation. They introduced new method "AdsApp.mutate()". It looks like the proxy to the Mutate method on the API.

The fact is that I can't mutate video objects on the API (everything in context of video campaign), however the same operations are possible through the Scripts. What's the reason of this kind of restrictions?

Since these restrictions we are forced to combine using of API and Scripts to manage video campaigns properly. It makes pipelines enough complex and slow.

I understand that you have a concern with regards to mutating video objects using API. Video campaigns must be created using the UI or Google Ads scripts. However, I am afraid that video campaigns cannot be mutated at all from the API, including simple operations such as pausing or enabling as well as complex operations like organizing, changing criteria, or adding ad groups.

In line with this, our team has already raised a feature request for this to be supported in API, subject for review. For now, you may use Google Ads API only for reporting of video campaigns. For the raised feature request, what we can do is to advise you to keep an eye on our blog post and release notes for the updates and releases.
