Greetings!

I think there's a bit of confusion going on here. I don't see why this wouldn't work as a concept.

The error you're getting is saying that you didn't set the scheme in BiddingStrategy . You appear to be setting the 'type' when the scheme' is expected. Could you please give that a try? I looked at the requests on our server, and I don't see that field being set. If you are still experiencing issues after doing that, please get back to me.

Thanks,
Nadine Wang, Google Ads API Team

Hello Sona,

Thank you for providing this detail. It made it possible for me to retrieve your requests and responses in our logs. It looks like you're trying to set BiddingScheme.Type. In our documentation (https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201809/CampaignService.MaximizeConversionsBiddingScheme#biddingscheme.type), it says not to set this field. It's just read-only. Try creating the object again without setting the type.

Thanks,
Nadine, Google Ads API Team

Hello Sona,

I've jumped into our code base to find out what's going on after trying it myself. I see that we are stopping it from going through. I'm now working on finding out why. I'll get back to you when I have an answer.

Cheers,

Nadine, Google Ads API Team

Hello Sona,

There is not a workaround, but I am working with one of my teammates to try to turn it on. I can't guarantee anything just yet, but I'm checking on this daily. I'll continue to check on it, and I'll get back to you with the status.

Hello Sona,

I see that a change has been put in that may have enabled this. Could you please give it another try?

Thanks,

Hello Sona,

It's just a bit of engineering magic. I love making someone's day. I worked with a fellow engineer to change the code to allow this as it is not a disruptive change to anyone. You were in luck that it was doable. Yes, it is permanently going to be there. So, you can write your feature around it. I'll pass on your thanks to my teammate. She'll appreciate it.

Happy coding!
