hello,
we have to migrate from Adwords API to Google Ads API but when I call new function I'm asked to enable Google Ads API in our project -
"Google Ads API has not been used in project xxx before or it is disabled. Enable it by visiting https://console.developers.google.com/apis/api/googleads.googleapis.com/overview?project=xxx then retry".
The problem is that no one in the team is able to access this project on Google Platform and person who set it up has left.
We have client id and client password but we don't know the email/account used for the setup of this project. How can we get information which account created this project?
If restoring access isn't possible what shall I do?
Is it possible to create another account and set up new project so that we are able to send our offline conversion with the new Google Ads API?
Will this break existing process which uses Google Adwords API?

Regards,
Karolina

Hi Karolina,

Thank you for posting your concern.

I can see that you are in this phase when you've encountered the issue. Unfortunately, our team would not be able to provide support to your concern about finding the email address of the project as it is encountered in GCP and outside of our scope already. With this, I would suggest reaching out to the GCP support team via this link to help you on finding the email address.

However, the workaround is indeed to generate another account and use it in the authentication. Please note that the email address / user account account that you will use in creating Oauth2 credential should have an admin access to the Google Ads accounts that you want to manage using API.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately because I don’t have access to our account, where the project is created I can’t reach GCP support as well. When I’m logged with my personal office email I have info that I’m on basic support scheme so I can’t call them or raise a ticket. Are you able to raise a ticket on my behalf?

Regards,

Karolina
