We have been partnering with the marketing affiliate to attract calls to our business, and we want to call google ads api (especially call performance report for cost visibility) from this affiliate's Google Ads MCC account. So Who should apply for the authentication and authorization? The questions are specific to as below.
1. Should the affiliate apply for the developer token, rather than us?
2. Should the affiliate apply for the client id, client secret and refresh token, rather than us?

FYI, We had no issue getting authentication authorization as well as calling API from the account that our company manages, not from the affiliate. We would like to understand the best practice since the Google Ads API data is coming from the affiliate.

We are following this guideline

Hi Jade,

Thank you for reaching us out. I am Sherwin from Google Ads API support team. I hope that you are doing well today.

Moving forward to your concerns:

  1. Should the affiliate apply for the developer token, rather than us? - If your affiliated company is under the same organization, then they can use the developer token that is generated on that organization. If the company is not under the same organization, then that company needs to have a developer token.
  2. Should the affiliate apply for the client id, client secret and refresh token, rather than us? - Yes, they need to create a client id, client secret and refresh token to access the google Ads account.
If you have further concerns or clarifications, please let us know.

Kind regards,
