Google Ads Smart Campaigns + Google Ads API

I have tried achieve Google Ads Smart Campaign data using Scripts - https://groups.google.com/g/adwords-scripts/c/L15NRmd6QhQ/m/ysDKKW2mAgAJ

But it is not yet supported so I would like to know if Google Ads API does support the Smart Campaigns?

I would like to know before I try to implement it on MCC Accounts.

Hi Ravi,

Could you provide more details on what you want to accomplish with the Smart campaign?

If you want to create or update or remove smart campaign using Google Ads API services, then I am afraid that this is not possible. Otherwise, if you want to get its information only, then this is possible by using CampaignService.GetCampaign or by using Google Ads API reporting.

Hi Ernie,

I would like to get the total costs (spend) on campaign but I could not able to get it through scripts as scripts does not support "Smart" campaigns yet as I mentioned in reference link above. 

I would like to know about whether I can get the cost of "smart" campaign using Google Ads API before I implement it? As Google Scripts support has said that they are not supporting it yet.

Let me know if you need more clarifications.

Hi Ravi,

With Google Ads API, you can run a report on the campaign resource and include the field advertising_channel_type. The value for this field will return SMART for these campaigns.
