FEED_ITEM_REPORT with Ads API

Hello,

I am not able to get segments.placeholder_type using feed_item_target resource.

 Failure: {"errors":[{"errorCode":{"queryError":"PROHIBITED_SEGMENT_IN_SELECT_OR_WHERE_CLAUSE"},"message":"Cannot select or filter on the following segments: 'segments.placeholder_type'(could not support requested resources: 'FEED_ITEM_TARGET', 'FEED_ITEM_TARGET'), since segment is incompatible with the resource in the FROM clause or other selected segmenting resources."}]}  

This is possible using Adwords API v201809.

Can you please help how I can get placeholder_type?

Hello Chirag, 

The Placeholder Type is returned through the Placeholder Report or with the Feed Services in the legacy API. The equivalent for this would be feed_placeholder_view.placeholder_type. You may use the customer_feed, campaign_feed, ad_group_feed to get the Placeholder details.

Hello Bharani,

I want to replicate PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM_REPORT that we used to get using legacy API.

Where we can get fields 'CampaignId','CampaignName', 'PlaceholderType' with CampaignStatus and AdGroupStatus ENABLED.

I can able to get query using query builder but same cannot give me result.

Thank you for clarifying this. The Placeholder type is available only through the feed_placeholder_view.placeholder_type. I have raised a feature request to the team to have this in the feed_item and feed_item_target fields too. Please keep an eye on our blog for any future updates.

I think this should not be a feature request. This might be bug.

As I can see over this link that this is already implemented like that.

Where we can see that on this link the placeholderType is supported

Hello Bharani,

PlaceholderType should be mapped with campaignId and AdgroupId.

It is there under AdwordsAPI I have asked the question on API as a bug but they suggested to post over here.

However, at least campaign.id should be able to appear in the SELECT clause, when feed_item is used as a main resource.

Hello Bharani,

I can see under the current release they have added campaign (targeted_campaign), ad group (targeted_ad_group), and location (targeted_geo_target_constant) targeting to ExtensionFeedItem. 


Is this same as Feed Item report? How I should Use this to get Placeholders mapped with campaign or adgroup?

You should be able to use feed_item to get the fields from the Placeholder Feed Item Report that are listed here. These include fields related to campaigns and ad groups.
