Adsense creation as precondition to Ad Manager

Hi,

I do have AdWords manager where I manage manually my clients' ads, however I want start using the API.

As far as I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong), to get developer token I need to create new Adwords manager with different email.

During the creation procedure it forced me to create AdSense, but I don't want to implement the AdSense code in my site so I stopped that step.

What is the right way to get access to the AdWords API?

Can I avoid implementing the AdSense code in my Site?

Hi Joab,

If you already have a production Google Ads manager account, you can use that account to setup the API access. Please follow the instructions in this guide to setup the API and request for API access. If you do not have a production Google Ads manager account, you can create one by following the instructions in this guide. An email address can be linked with five accounts and hence if the email that you want to use is not already linked with five Google Ads accounts (including manager accounts), you can use the same email address. If you are reusing the email address, please make sure to click the hyper link in the message at the bottom of the account creation page "Do you want to create a new Google Ads account associated with this email address? Click here."

The creation procedure of production Google Ads manager account should not force you to create or setup AdSense. Could you please follow the instructions shared above and see if you are still being directed to setup AdSense? If so, could you share the screenshot and the steps that you followed which lead to the specific page? You can reply privately to author while sharing the screenshots.
