Hi there,

We are a banking platform built for e-commerce and we are now building an integration with Google ads, so we wish to implement the following two features:

1. One-click payment method update: We are a payment provider and issue our own cards, and we would like our customers to be able to swap credit cards used for payment in Google from within our UI (both primary and backup one). Is this possible and does your API support such functionality?
2. We want to pull in receipts per transaction (not just the monthly invoice). Does your API support pulling in the transaction data and the receipt associated with each? If not, is it legally permitted for us to generate such receipt (we have the actual payment transactions within our platform since we provide the accounts/ledgers and cards)?

Thanks,
Stevche

Hello Stevche,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. Could you please share a few screenshots where you can expose both functionalities on the Google Ads UI? I am wondering if we have that kind of functionality on the Ads API except monthly invoices.

Hi Jakeia

Here are few screenshots, here is what we want to achieve:
1. For the transactions page, we want to fetch each individual transaction, along with the payment receipt that is included when clicking on the transaction itself.
2. For the payments page, we want to be able to add, remove, and update payment methods for the customer programmatically.

Let me know if any of these 2 are possible (by the way, I know of the monthly invoice, but we want per-transaction statements).

Hi Stevche,

I am also a member of the Google Ads API team and let me provide support to your concern.

It appears that the features that you are looking for are currently not supported in the Google Ads API. You may refer to this guide to know which billing features are available in the Google Ads API. With this, I will raise a feature request for this to our team, but could you provide first a sample use case why you need this feature?

Hi,

The use-case for fetching transactions and the receipts is so we can automatically match them in our banking platform and send them to accounting software. Our customers are doing this manually now, which is far from ideal.
The use-case for updating cards is, some of our customers are marketing agencies managing multiple accounts, and thus using a number of cards. Now it is quite slow and cumbersome for them to manually update the cards in Google, so if there was an integration we would allow them to achieve the same with a single click from our platform.

I hope that explains it, but sad to hear that you don't support these APIs

Regards
Stevche

Hi Stevche,

Thank you for providing the requested details.

I've raised the feature request to my team to have a service, report or method that can get the information in the UI that you've mentioned, subject for review. For the meantime, please follow our blog as we will post there relevant updates about this when it become supported.
