Hi,

I wanted to know if there's any type of "default" ordering that is applied to queries that do not include an "ORDER BY" statement.

So, take as an example a search_stream request that is based on the following query:

SELECT
metrics.cost_micros
FROM ad_group
WHERE campaign.status NOT IN ('REMOVED')
AND segments.date DURING YESTERDAY

Would the results I get from this request be ordered by any field or would they have a random ordering that would change if I send the request several times?

Any assistance in this matter is highly appreciated.

Regards,
Mario

Hi Mario,

Thank you for reaching out to Ads API support. Our documentation doesn't specify a default ordering. If you can find that there is an order it is unsupported and may be broken with changes occuring server side. Could you describe your need with more detail?

Hi Aryeh,

I had tried searching the API documentation before posting my question, but wasn't able to find any mention of default ordering there.

So I was only asking to make sure whether such default ordering exists.

In this context, you already answered my question and no further clarification is needed.

Thank you for your informative reply.

Best regards,
Mario
