Hi Team,

I am trying to make API calls to retrieve campaign metrics at various granularity from the USER LOCATION VIEW resource.

I did the API call at for the SAME CUSTOMER and for the SAME DATE RANGE for the below location hierarchy:

1) GEO TARGET METRO
2) GEO TARGET CITY
3) GEO TARGET POSTAL CODE

When I try to roll up the # of clicks received in the POSTAL CODE data at METRO REGION it is not matching with # of clicks received in the GEO TARGET METRO data at METRO REGION.

Example :
# of clicks for the same metro region in

- GEO TARGET METRO dataset = 311
- GEO TARGET CITY dataset = 309
- GEO TARGET POSTAL CODE dataset = 215

Please advise.

Thanks,
Neel

Hi Neel,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Based on the information provided, it appears that the number of clicks reported in the POSTAL CODE data for the METRO REGION does not match the number of clicks reported in the GEO TARGET METRO data for the same METRO REGION. Kindly note that the number of clicks will be different at city, postal code and metro level. In order to investigate your issue further, kindly provide us with the complete API logs (request and response logs with request-id and request header) generated at your end and uncropped UI screenshot of the Google Ads account (with visible customer ID) by highlighting the fields and metrics for which you want to retrieve using the Google Ads API.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.
