I saw OnHold status in criterion but it seems that setting this status
to Keyword do not change the status of that Keyword. It still appears
as active.

For now my workaround to pause a keywords is to set it's bid to 0.1p
but it's pretty ugly hack.

Is there any way to pause a keyword?

cheers

Keywords cannot be paused. You will have to delete it and then recreate
it when you want to reactivate it. Delete and recreate would cost you
51 quotas whereas setting the CPC to 0.01 and back to your "wanted"
price would cost 20 quota. So from a quota point of view its worth
doing the ugly hack.

and
when you "reactivate" with this "delete and recreate" method, i think
that you lost all the keyword stats like impressions ... :-(

Especially if Google really does start charging us for all API usage
like they say they're going to.....I guess hacks like this will become
more common.
