Is there an API way to link to an existing GMB account when I'm creating a location extension?

You could try following this documentation as it specifies the steps on linking your Google My Business locations to your AdWords account and create them as location extension using the AdWords API.

Thanks for the reply, currently in the UI there's option to request link to another gmb account which owned by others, is that doable via api?

Hi,

I am a colleague of Ejay and I will be the one providing support.

Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to request link to another Google My Business account via the AdWords API. Based on this documentation, what you can do is creating business locations programmatically using the Google My Business API and linking them to Google Ads by creating the required feed objects. You may follow our blog for any relevant updates on this topic.
