About OAuth 2.0 credentials

Hi, I am currently working on a team that has no prior knowledge about Google Ads API. We want to extract out company's add data to analyze, but we face some errors. Our problem now is not knowing whether we need OAuth 2.0 credentials in order to complete this task. We were not able to find anything on the documents (nearly all the example codes use them) but Bard and some parts of the documents points out that since we do not need any user authentification we do not need them. 

So, what is the correct approach? If we do not need OAuth 2.0 credentials, where can we find documents/examples that will clarify us on the topic?

With regards to your concerns about the OAuth credentials, I can confirm that it is required whether you are using the REST API or the client libraries in retrieving or mutating data via the Google Ads API. You may refer to this documentation for the said OAuth credentials (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/first-call/overview). 

You may also follow the OAuth cloud project via this link (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/first-call/oauth-cloud-project) to configure a Google API Console Project for the Google Ads API and the OAuth client library via this link (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/first-call/oauth-client-library) to configure a Client Library for OAuth in the Google Ads API.
