Hi,

I like to capture the Google Click ID from Java/Kafka events and forward it to those events by backend API not sure if possible. The main reason to capture the click id , is because when the user has an adblocker or some other application could be blocker us to collect users ad information.  Does anyone have suggestions?

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to Google Ads API Forum.

With regards to your concern, in Google Ads API perspective, retrieving the Google Click ID (gclid), you may use the click_view reporting. You may also use the click_view query builder to build and validate your query.

Let me know how this goes on your end.

Thank you for the feedback!
So if we use the click_view reporting and click_view query builder could avoid the click id events being blocked by third-party applications and ad blockers, do I understand correctly?

Thank you

Hi,

Thank you for returning to our team.

Please note that the click_view reporting is used to pull gclid/Google click ID (gclid) associated with the conversion. While the click_view query builder can be used in building and validating your query.

Moreover, I would suggest checking the below guides for more informations:

  • Reports - available reports in the Google Ads API which is used to pull data from your Google Ads account
  • Reporting - guide which mainly contains all the details on how you can use the Google Ads API reports and different details to take note of.
