New Ads API Search Term View for shopping campaigns doesn't segment by product group

Hello

In the old API we were able to segment the shopping search query reports by product groups ID, but in the new API there seem to be no way of querying for this.

Could you please point the correct direction or fields to select for getting it?

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Could you please send a SOAP request and response logs of the report when you are able to segment the shopping search query reports by product groups ID, combined with a screenshot of the equivalent report in the UI that is segmented the same way that the API report is pulled, so that I can check better? 

You may then send the requested information via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias instead.

I'm querying this view: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v9/search_term_view#segments.keyword.ad_group_criterion

This is the query which worked in the old API:

SELECT AdGroupId, CampaignId, Clicks, Cost, Impressions, Query, Device, KeywordId, Date FROM SEARCH_QUERY_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

The csv returned by this report contains "Product group ID" in the KeywordId column.

When trying the equivalent query in the new API:

SELECT ad_group.id, campaign.id, metrics.clicks, metrics.cost_micros, metrics.impressions, search_term_view.search_term, segments.device, segments.keyword.ad_group_criterion, segments.date FROM search_term_view

the response contains zero rows.

As soon as I remove the segments.keyword.ad_group_criterion from the SELECT fields, the response gives the expected result, missing the segmentation and value for "Product Group ID".

Please let me know what should be done to get the segmentation and value for "Product Group ID".

Looks like this functionality wasn't documented and not intended to work (having  "Product group ID" in the KeywordId column), therefore, it wasn't ported into the new API.

Nevertheless, the support team "filed a feature request to see if this is feasible in a future release of the API."

Hi,

Search campaigns should not be impacted by this issue, as the Google Ads API will return the associated keyword criterion in the segments.keyword* fields for those impressions.

I don't have any further updates on the feature request.
