Hi,
I'm trying to understand why the field "Clicks" does not populate for campaigns with campaign type "Video" when running a GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT. There is an old thread on the subject which suggests that this behavior is intentional, but I still don't understand why Clicks would be tracked for video campaigns in other reports but not in geo reports.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. As mentioned in the forum thread, the Clicks field does not correlate to videos. To get the number of clicks on your video campaigns, you need to use the VideoViews field which is currently not available for Geo Performance Report. This field will represent the number of times your video ads were viewed. Let us know if this clarifies your concerns.

If clicks doesn't correlate to videos, how come several other report types does include clicks for video campaigns? To me it seems like it's specifically geo reports that won't include them.

Hello Theo,

The Geo Performance Report in the AdWords API does not currently support reporting for Video Ads. This is the reason you are not able to view the clicks for video campaigns in this report. A feature request regarding your concern is already created internally within our team. However, we do not have any timeline to share when this feature will be available via API. Please keep an eye on our blog post as it is the best way to be aware about the new features of the API. Also, to clarify my previous email, the Clicks for video ads are still counted, but a Click does not necessarily translate into a VideoView or Interaction for those ads, it merely means a user clicked on the ad. For example, the user may have not actually watched the video ad after clicking. Let us know if you need any additional information.

Yes, that answers my question, thank you.
Is there anywhere I can read more on what campaign types are supported by which report types? We've run into a few similar problems before with other campaign/report type combinations.

Hello Theo,

Currently the only available report documentation that might be useful to you is the all combined reports which will give you the list of reports supported by various report fields. Also, you might find this guide related to Universal App Campaigns useful for the list of report types supported with this campaign types. Additionally, please refer to this guide for mapping reports to the Google Ads UI. If you still observe any discrepancy with the list of supported campaign types, please share the complete report query along with the client customer id in future and we will be happy to investigate this further and assist you better.

P.S. Please use Reply privately to author option while sharing the sensitive details for investigation.
