Steps to set up a test account for API Access

Hi,

Can anyone provide me with (clear) steps to set up a test account for full access to the Google Ads (Not Adwords) API.

I want to set up an account that can manage billing and campaigns etc for my ads only from an admin web app.  The documentation i've found seems to be vague at best and out of date or wrong in most cases.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You can refer to the instructions in this link to create a test manager account. To create a test client account, you can refer to this example, while using OAuth2 credentials generated by a user that has access to your test manager account. Then through this guide, you can create a few campaigns to populate the test client account.

You can follow the rest of the steps in our Quickstart guide to complete your setup for Google Ads API. If you encounter any issues, just let us know a summary of the issue so we can further investigate.

You may also share some screenshots and/or the complete request and response logs with request ID via Reply privately to author option so we can take a closer look at the issue. If this option is not available to you, you may send the additional information to googleadsa...@google.com instead, just let us know in this thread once you have sent it so we can check on our end.
