I didn't have option to reply privately. What I should do to reply privately?

Thanks,

Hello,

The documentation for this error states that "fields with subfields may be cleared, but not updated". As you are attempting to update the field, GeoTargetTypeSetting, which has subfields, positive_geo_target_type and negative_geo_target_type, this conflicts with the error description, that states such fields may not be updatd.

Regards,

Hi Ting,

I work with Ernie and Matt and allow me to assist you for now. I also had to delete your previous posts containing your logs.

For us to discuss the contents of your logs, you may send these details via the Reply privately to author option or directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias.

Moving forward, before I raise this issue with the rest of our team, and since it appears that you are using the .NET library, could you confirm if this is the actual link from where you acquired the latest 8.0.0 version?

You may also note that the current Google Ads API version is the v7 as seen in our documentation. That said, I would recommend that you also reach out to the .NET client library owners, via this link, to confirm if the said 8.0.0 is a correct client library version for the Google Ads API v7.

Once their client library team confirms that the 8.0.0 is indeed for the Google Ads API v7, let us know so I can raise this issue with the rest of our team.

Best regards,

Hi,
From the doc, it is expected to use latest 8.0.0 version in order to upgrade Google Ads API Version from v6 to v7.
Our API call is working in V6 but failed in V6 & V7 after upgrading .NET library from 6.1.0 to 8.0.0

Thanks,
Ting

Hi Ting,

Thank you for reaching out. Currently the v8 is not released yet. When upgrading the v6 to v7, you need to both upgrade the API from v6 to v7 and install the updated client library to have it working correctly.

Thanks and regards,
Xiaoming, Google Ads API Team

Hi,
We are not using v8 for Google Ads API, we are using 8.0.0 .NET library version which is required for Google ADs API v7. We have installed the updated client library (which is 8.0.0) and it is not working correctly as before. We'd like to understand whether GeoTargetTypeSetting updating is not available in .net library or there are new ways to update it. We are following the doc and it is working since the library updated, if GeoTargetTypeSetting updating behavior is changed, please provide the latest doc.

Thanks,
Ting

Hi Ting,

Thanks for clarifying your issue. As your inquiry is specific to the .NET client library, please reach out to the client library owners here on the .NET CL GitHub page.
