Difference between getId and getIdUnwrapped

Hi,

I am not able to recognise when to use getId and getIdUnwrapped?

I can see that all the example is using $campaign->getId() instead $campaign->getIdUnwrapped().

What is correct way and what is difference between that?

Now with version V5 I cannot see this functions any more.
