Losing metrics when including ad (ad_group_ad) and keyword (segments.keyword.info.text) segments in search_term_view

I'm trying to pull a report from the Google Ads API that will show performance metrics (impressions, clicks, cost) for search/search partners campaigns (old-school campaigns :))

However, I've noticed that the moment my report includes both ad_group_ad (anything under that) and segments.keyword (anything under that), the metrics all drop.

When viewing in the AdWords web UI the numbers match those I'd get on the report if I dropped one (or both) of those segments (to clarify, in the web UI I can request both segments and get the full numbers).  I've been toying with this for a while trying to figure out what, specifically, is getting dropped but getting nowhere.    Has anyone seen this behavior before?  Can someone shed some light on this?

PS. Are there other reports that will allow a single-attribution style report including keywords and ads, to help analyze campaign performance?  I didn't see any other views with both, but maybe I've missed something...

Hi Danae,

There is currently no report in the Google Ads API wherein you can query multiple resources all at once. For example, in the Campaign report, you can refer to the Segments and Metrics dropdowns as to which fields you can include when generating this report.

I hope this helps and please write back if you have any further clarifications.

Thanks and regards,
Peter
