My search query report request returned a row with 0 clicks and 1 conversion. I don't know what to make of that because the documentation says that conversions are attributed to the times of the clicks that led to them (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2679221?hl=en). See related discussion here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/adwords-api/zero$20clicks$20non-zero

How should I interpret this data?

Example:
Account: 1429842614

Query:
SELECT Clicks, Conversions
FROM SEARCH_QUERY_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
WHERE Clicks = 0 AND Conversions > 0
AND CampaignId=121071908
DURING 20130811,20130811

Result:
0,1

You have my permission to query the account to investigate.

Hi,

I see that the Dimensions tab shows the same data for the Search terms view, but I agree that the combination of conversions with zero clicks looks odd.  I'm looking into whether this behavior is expected.

Do you see this combination for other dates as well, or is Aug 11 2013 special?

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

That query just isolates one particular case I've run into. A colleague reported hitting the same issue earlier, so I think it's happened before, but he didn't remember the details for when he saw it.

Hi,

I just now received confirmation that you can see conversions <> 0 with clicks = 0 if AdWords determined that the conversion's click was spam.

Cheers,

Thanks for investigating. It's odd that a click that converts can be spam, but I'll take the free conversion.

Hi,

I think what happened here is that the conversion was reported before the click was determined to be spam.

Cheers,
