Hello!
I get a Group Placement View report. But it has fewer impressions and clicks than in other reports for the same date. For example, in the reports Campaign, Ad Group Ad, Age Range View and others, I see 38 impressions of ad_network_type = CONTENT, and in this report only 17. The same situation is with any other dates. What could be the problem?

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to our API support team regarding your group_placement_view issue.

We usually do not recommend comparing reports specializing in different entities. Since reports are aggregated in different levels, metrics of these reports may indeed not be equal.

To elaborate, the group placement view will specialize in statistics/metrics related to a group placement, while a campaign report would return data accumulated by other entities under that campaign.

Best regards,

Thank you, then how can I find out which placements had all the impressions of ad_network_type = CONTENT?

Hi,

Thank you for your follow up.

The group_placement_view should still allow you to segment your records using the ad_network_type field and also filter using the CONTENT value. However, you may note that statistics of this report are aggregated to a specific group placement (see resource_name) only.

If you continue to encounter discrepancies, could you provide more details such as :
  • the complete queries (GAQL) you used
  • your expected output
  • the actual output (provide the complete request and response logs, with the request-id)
If you haven't yet, logging can be enabled by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation, which you can access from this link.

You may then send the requested information via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias instead.
