If an advert has become "Approved (limited)" as seen in the AdWords front end, there's no way to find these adverts through the API as the Ad Performance Report always returns them as "approved" which isn't really the case. Yes they are approved, but at the same time they aren't due to the advert being limited.

Is there anyway to either get this added as another predicate or another approval status? Or is there another way to return these adverts through the API?

Hi Lloyd,

Thank you for the feedback.  I'll bring up the idea to the core engineering team, but for the mean time the behavior will remain the same.

Best,

Hi Eric,

Do you have an update on this? Almost 5 years later and the API still doesn't seem to report "Approved (Limited)" status.
Thanks,

Erwin

Hi Erwin,

You may use the approvalStatus and trademarkDisapproved fields. These fields provide the ad's approval status and indicates if the ad is disapproved due to trademark policy issues. However, these do not provide 1-1 mapping as that of the AdWords UI. I will let the team know about the possible feature request. In the meantime, please continue to follow our blog to check on future updates.

Additionally, if you will have follow-up questions or new concerns about this, please open a new forum thread for us to properly track it. :)

Regards,
Joyce, AdWords API Team

Hi Joyce,

Thanks for your reply. These fields are unfortunately unhelpful when status is "Approved (Limited)". I would categorize this issue as nearly a bug; approvalStatus should differentiate between Approved and Approved (Limited) as they are not the same thing. Or at least trademarkDisapproved should be populated if this is the reason for the "(Limited)" status (as reported in the Adwords UI).

I'll open another thread for future follow-ups, I just thought it would be redundant as I had exactly the same question as the OP.

Regards,

Erwin
