Hello friends.
Could anybody help us? 🙏

Context:
We already have a Standard Access Level for developer token.
Last year we successfully operated as an "Agency/SAM" company type. However, we decided to make a self-service product to empower users to get their Google Ads data.
After investing a lot in development we reached all the Requirements needed for "Independent Google Ads Developer" company type.

We were warned that changing the company type without notifying the Google Ads API team may lead to dev token revoking, which is unacceptable. Last 2.5 months we struggled with getting approval from Google Ads API team about changing the company type. After 2 months of silence, they responded that they could not log in to our product with the provided requirements. I need to explain it in more detail 👇

To ensure the maximum security for our users access to the product is possible only via a Google Account. For the Google Ads API team to test the developed functionality also needed a Google Account (with access to at least one Google Ads account).

In our request to the Google Ads API team we provided a login/password for a test Google Account which has access to a dedicated project inside our product. However, because of built-in security, they cannot log in to that test Google Account (my assumption - because they physically are in a different part of the world) 😢 So they cannot even give a try to our product.

We asked a few times to provide a Google Account from their side, so we'll be able to add it to our product and they will test it, but questions were ignored 😢

Questions we need help with:
  1. How could we circumvent the issue with access to test Google Account for Google Ads API team?
  2. Does anybody have a successful experience with getting Google Account from Google Ads API team for testing their product during the verification process?
  3. Is it really necessary to wait for the approval from Google Ads API team to change the company type and release our self-service product for the users?

We will be very appreciate for any ideas or suggestions 🙏

Hi,

Please find the response to your queries respectively.

How could we circumvent the issue with access to test Google Account for Google Ads API team? Does anybody have a successful experience with getting Google Account from Google Ads API team for testing their product during the verification process?

We are the Google Ads API support team. Please note that we can only assist with technical queries/concerns related to the Google Ads API. It appears that your product needs verification to test the functionality. Could you please confirm which team you are referring to for the verification process. Also, could you please confirm if this verification team is in contact with you?

Is it really necessary to wait for the approval from Google Ads API team to change the company type and release our self-service product for the users?

If you are warned that changing the company type without notifying the Google Ads API team may lead to developer token revoking, then I would recommend that you get the approval from Google Ads API team to change the company type.

Hope this helps. If you have any more queries, please feel free to get back to us.

Hi there!  Thanks for your response.

>>>Could you please confirm which team you are referring to for the verification process. Also, could you please confirm if this verification team is in contact with you?

We've been reaching out to the ads-api-compliance team, but their responses seem a bit infrequent and possibly automated. We were hoping to get a deeper dive into our specific questions. Since this delay has impacted our release timeline by a few months, we'd greatly appreciate it if you could direct us to a specific person on the team who can provide more focused assistance.

Thank you for your understanding and support!
