Good day,

We have observed a sudden increase in "Access not allowed.." or Forbidden responses when retrieving Local Services lead phone call recordings for customers under our manager account.

We try to download these recordings by including our developer token, customer ID, and auth token in the REST API request header of the GET request to the call recording URL.

The way we retrieve these lead phone call recording URLs is by using Google Ads API local_services_lead_conversation.phone_call_details.call_recording_url resource. Could you confirm if there have been any recent policy changes that might be causing this issue?

Here is a sample request for your reference:

The response is a 403 Forbidden with an HTML format that contains "Access not allowed.." text and a hyperlink to switch accounts. Note that our manager account should have read-access to the client account that owns this lead call recording since we're able to retrieve the call recording URL in the first place as explained in the Limitations section here https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/campaigns/local-service-campaigns#limitations_2

We would appreciate your assistance in investigating this matter and providing guidance.

Best regards,
Julius Decena

Hi Julius,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

I understand that you are encountering "Access not allowed" response when retrieving Local Services lead phone call recordings for customers under your manager account using the Google Ads API.

To assist you further, please provide us with the "complete API logs" (request and response with request-id and request header) generated at your end while retrieving the data. Also, provide the email address that you are using to sign in to the Google Ads client account.

If you haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging. For REST interface requests, you can do so via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.
