How to Retrieve Audience Performance Metrics in Google Ads? (Shopping)

Hello,

I want to replicate the reports from the Google Ads interface to analyze the performance of different audiences added to the ad groups in a standard shopping campaign.

I understand that I need to query ad_group_criterion, but I'm unsure how to retrieve the metrics for each criterion ID. Specifically, I'm looking for data such as clicks, conversions, etc.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Note that the ad_group_criterion is a resource without metrics. So, it is not possible to fetch the metrics such as clicks, conversions, etc using the ad_group_criterion. 

To double-check regarding the resource that can be used, please provide us with the uncropped UI screenshot (from your Google Ads account) of the data that you are trying to fetch via the API.

Hello,

I apologize, but I'm a bit confused by your response. The screenshot I shared shows everything that's visible in Google Ads - it's not cropped. The "Audience segment" column simply shows the audiences, and that's all there is to see in the Google Ads interface (aside from the sidebar which obviously shows campaigns).

Could you please clarify what additional information you need to help me with retrieving the audience performance metrics?

Hi,

I understand you need to fetch the audience segments data using Google Ads API. I would recommend you to use campaign_audience_view or ad_group_audience_view  resources which allows you to fetch the data related to audience segments within your campaigns or ad groups respectively.

Hello, 

I'm facing the same issue. campaign_audience_view table has following campaign_criterion.types 'USER_LIST', 'USER_INTEREST', 'UNKNOWN'  and does not have AUDIENCE type. Non of the campaign_criterion.criterion_id link to audience table. 

ad_group_audience_view has CUSTOM_AUDIENCE type but not AUDIENCE type. 

Is it possible to get audiences from audience table (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v21/audience_query_builder) with all the key metrics?
