RDA Limits per Ad Group

Hi everyone,

We're trying to push some new Responsive Display Ads using the API but we're seeing the following error:

Error found:

"errorCode":

"resourceCountLimitExceededError": "RESOURCE_LIMIT" "message":

"This request would exceed a limit on the number of allowed resources.

"trigger": "stringValue": "ENABLED_TEXT_CREATIVES_PER_AD_GROUP"

According to the documentation, the following limits are established:

•     300 image or gallery ads per ad group
•     50 active text and non-image/gallery ads per ad group

Can you help me clarify what this means for RDAs? They're a combination of image ads + responsive text ads, so I'm assuming I'm only allowed to create 50 RDAs per ad group. Would you say that's correct?

With regard to your concern, I can see that you are encountering esource_count_limit_exceeded_error: RESOURCE_LIMIT error, it means that this request would exceed a limit on the number of allowed resources. The details of which type of limit was exceeded will eventually be returned in ErrorDetails as discussed in this document.

Moving forward to your question, I wasn't able to find any document about a number of limits of responsive display ads, could you please clarify where you saw that limit? You can send it via Reply privately to the author option. If this option is not available, then send it instead on this email address googleadsapi-support@google.com alias instead.

I'd just need to know how many RDAs are allowed per ad group.

To further investigate, please provide the complete request and response logs with request ID and request header generated on your end? Please see the links to know the information that we are referring to. This information can be extracted when logging of API transactions is enabled on your end. If you haven't enabled the logging of the API transactions for the specific client library that you are using, then please refer to the specific guide below:

I am having trouble opening the file from your drive, likely because it is ~100 MB in size. Is it possible for you to provide us with the request, and the relevant part of the response given in the error message (index 1214)? 

Please also check if this error message is related to the ad limits specified on this page.

If you look at my first message you'll see that I mentioned the limits specified in the documentation you just shared. That's already something I checked but doesn't answer my question: "What's the limit of RDAs per ad group"?

Hi,

Apologies for the delay. The team confirmed that RDAs follow the same entity limit as standard text ads - 50 active ads per ad group.
