PMax + Signals > Audience Custom Segments NOT Possible in API?

We have a LARGE account with a lot of Performance Max campaigns, and within each one, there is between two and fifty Asset Groups.

Beyond updating the "Search Themes" we are stuck trying to find out how to find which "Custom Segment" Audience is associated to which Campaign/Asset Group.

I have the resource name of the Campaign and Signal, but can not get anything past that point... Gemini led us on a wild goose chase for hours then said "oh, your right this has to be done in the UI."

The concern is, we have these Custom segments, which are comprised of various "People who searched for any of these terms on Google" keywords, but no way to connect the Audience segment ID with the "Signal Audience"?  There really is no way to do this? 

The only solution we found was to start completely over with the Audience segment ID's and manually map them on our side but we are fearing the downtime and impact it may have unlinking the Audience Signal then creating a new one.

To better understand your specific requirement, could you please provide an uncropped screenshot from the Google Ads UI? Please highlight the fields you are trying to retrieve through the Google Ads API.

Additionally, you mentioned being "unable to find an API method to connect the 'Signal Audience' to a 'Custom Segment' ID." Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "connecting to the signal audience"? A screenshot of what you are trying to achieve and a more detailed explanation of the "connection" you are looking for would be very helpful in assisting you further.
