Hi Guys,

I currently have Basic Access to the Google Ads API, which allows me to retrieve the exact search volumes for keywords. I'm considering applying for Standard Access in the future, which I understand offers unlimited operations and is free of cost.

My questions are:

1. If I upgrade to Standard Access, will I continue to receive exact search volumes for keywords, or will the data be provided in ranges?

2. If the search volumes will be provided in ranges, how can I obtain the exact search volumes while using the Google Ads API with Standard Access?

Regards,

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Here are the answers for your queries:

1. If I upgrade to Standard Access, will I continue to receive exact search volumes for keywords, or will the data be provided in ranges?
  • If you upgrade your Google Ads API to Standard Access, it will not change the way search volume data is provided. Both Basic and Standard Access tiers deliver search volume estimates in ranges, not exact numbers.

2. If the search volumes will be provided in ranges, how can I obtain the exact search volumes while using the Google Ads API with Standard Access?
  • I would like to inform you that the Google Ads API with Standard Access does not provide exact search volumes for keywords. Instead, it offers estimates within a specific range. Please refer to the document Keyword Planning which explains the functionalities of Keyword Planning within the API and search volume estimation

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed response.

Regarding the query, as per my understanding, when I run the Basic Access API to get Keywords Search Volumes, I receive search volume data like this:

  • Home Loan - 90,500
  • Calculating Home Loan - 673,000
  • Home Loan Interest Rates - 201,000

I have also attached a screenshot of the data for your reference. Could you please confirm if these numbers represent exact search volumes or if they are estimates in ranges?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,

As mentioned earlier, the Basic and Standard Access tiers deliver search volume estimates in ranges, not exact numbers. The search volumes are updated monthly by looking at the previous month's search volume. I would suggest you refer to the document for more details.

Hi Team,

If the keyword is "home loan", will I get search volume as "50,000" or "10,000-50,000" ?

Please let us know.

Hi,

Kindly note that we cannot provide the exact number for a specific keyword. The Google Ads API explains the process of adding  the keywords to campaigns. As suggested earlier, refer to the keyword planning to know the add process.
