Hi, I've got 2 types placements that i want to add to a shared exclusion list but unable

1. youtube videos SharedCriterionService doesn't have a sub type of Criterion for youtube like the one in AdGroupCriterionService but still it doesn't allow me to add them to the list

2. anonymous links , because they don't have the url , is there anyway to add them by id ?

Thanks, Stas

Hi Stas,

The AdWords API v201509 supports TrueView campaigns that have migrated from AdWords for video, and several reports now include statistics and new metrics for these campaigns. The AdWords API reports support the video campaigns data. The AdWords API services do not support the video campaigns and above mentioned updates are not supported using the services.  The video and multi-channel reporting changes section of the release notes covers the video campaign related changes. Please check release notes for complete lists of changes and added features. The AdWords product side (UI) support video campaign. You could find out more in the AdWords community.

Thanks,
Umesh, AdWords API Team.

Hi Umesh,

Stas (we work together) is referring to a Display campaign (not TrueView),
Example:
We are targeting Youtube.com in a single campaign, youtube has over a Billion pages, we wish to exclude over 100K urls from youtube, per ad group, the only method Available for such a big exclusion list is,
exclusion via a shared url list.
Thus we need an option to add Full Urls, (ie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8bZhNBQktQ ) and similar to a shared list,
When I try to add such full urls, I get an exception from the system.

Please Advise,
Regards Ofir

Hi Ofir,

Thanks for describing the issue in detail. Could you please provide me privately the SOAP XML request and response logs for above API call? Just click Reply privately to author in the forum when responding. Don't forget to remove the developer token in the output.

Hi Ofir,

Thanks for providing SOAP XML request and response logs. The CriterionError.YOUTUBE_URL_UNSUPPORTED describes that YouTube urls are not supported in Placement criterion. You could use YouTubeChannel and YouTubeVideo criterion instead. If you want to know what changes have happened because of the AdWords API, you can use the CustomerSyncService. This service retrieves the changed entities for a customer account or campaign based on the given date range. To see the changes in the AdWords product side (UI), you could go to Tools-->Change History. For further AdWords product related questions, please post the question in the AdWords community forum.
