I'm looking for more information around the Pmax migration. I don't want to transition many of my accounts given their positive performance on multiple channels and was wondering if in July this was optional?
Starting July 2022, automatic upgrades will begin to some of the accounts about this
blog post. I am afraid that there is no way to opt out of these updates.
If its not, what does the time frame look like for migration and what will google do with the lack of assets?
As mentioned earlier, automatic upgrades will start in July. As for your inquiry about assets you should ensure minimum asset requirements are met as discussed in this
document.
Lastly, will manual shopping campaigns still work or will Pmax target those conversions?
According to this
blog post, An upgraded SSC will be marked as REMOVED status (metrics will continue to be available in the legacy campaign for historical purposes). There will also be a mapping from the previous campaign ID to the new Performance Max campaign ID. Budgets, assets, and settings of the existing SSC are preserved.
