Request had insufficient authentication scopes

Hello, 

I would like to ask you for help.

We are struggling with API authentication and we are not able to go through it. We are ending this error - Request had insufficient authentication scopes. We created We have created a client ID, client secret,... but unfortunately it doesn't work.

We are using token from an account that is not in the structure of the account which we authenticated for. Google representative told us that it should be working. Could it be the problem of an error which we are getting? 

And if so, is there a solution for how to run it even when the token is for a different account?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. Your developer token MCC does not have to be connected to the account hierarchy that you are targeting for API calls.

If you can provide your complete request and response logs we can have a closer look at this issue.

Hello,

If you click the three vertical dot button on the right side of this post, you can select 'reply privately to author'. This option will route your response to our private email.

Our team was able to receive the details that you've sent privately. However, it appears that you did not receive the reply of my colleague. With this, allow me to reiterate the reply and you can see it below:
"Please ensure the following:
    • The OAuth credentials have been properly set. I see you are using the Python client library. These credentials and the refresh token should be stored in the googleads.yaml file"
