Keywords performance report API not matching UI

Hi,

I am using adwords API to download Ad Performance Report, Geo Performance report and keywords performance report.

After downloading the reports, when I compare with the adwords UI, the first two reports are matching correctly, however for the keywords performance report - the UI is showing very different numbers as compared to the API. In fact, there are several keyword ids which are present in API and not present in UI and viceversa as well.

I am downloading keyword ids, devices, campaigns, adgroups and date as dimensions in the API.

Can you pls help clarify in I am missing something?

So I can better investigate your issue about discrepancies, could you provide to me your clientCustomerId, the complete report definition you used to generate the report via the AdWords API and the complete screenshot in the AdWords UI? i have a somewhat similar question. I also use the Api to get the invoices in a machine readable way and expect the data to match the invoices (pdf, csv) from https://adwords.google.com/aw/billing/invoices

I am doing something like this:

SELECT Clicks, Impressions, Cost
FROM CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
WHERE BudgetId = $budgetId
DURING $startDate,$endDate

From the invoices/budgets i checked so far, 80% of the cost are matching. Thats good, but not usable. Question: Are the entries from CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT suppose to match the data from /aw/billing/invoices or was i just lucky with my 80% matching rate?

Hi Frank,

You cannot compare the Campaign Performance Report with invoice report from the UI as they are both different report types. Invoice report from UI is currently not available through the API.

Oh snap.. ok. Is there another way or do I need to process the CVS/PDF now? I mean, this is the source of truth, real money going from A to B based on that data.. It has to be available in reliable way.

My apologies as the API does not support the invoice report and is currently available only in the UI. For your concerns in invoice report, I would suggest to post your issue on the Google Ads Community Forum as they are better equipped to assist you in this matter.
