Hello there.
Sorry for being ignorant, I couldn't find this info in the docs so I am asking there. Is it possible to schedule feeds update via API with FeedServices (I'm aware it's being deprecated) and this scheduling mechanic will be kept for asset based feeds? To be clear what exact part I'm talking about I added screenshots.

Hi Algirdas,

Thank you for reaching out and no worries as our our team is always happy to help on any concerns you may have regarding the API.

Moving forward, there isn't currently any scheduling feature available in the Google Ads API since these can instead be implemented locally on the customers' end. What I can recommend is that you create a scheduling feature in your application, then call on the feed services of the Google Ads API depending on your preferred time or period.

As for your other concern "this scheduling mechanic will be kept for asset based feeds?", you may clarify this with the Google Ads Product Support team instead, via this link, as they should be better equipped in providing guidance on UI features.

I hope this helps.

Hey,
thanks for your answer. I'll add some context to outline why this is problematic for us. We have our application where we manage feeds and we create lots of them and also we have many accounts created so we wanted to automate this. Since we try many different feeds and have many accounts customer still spends great deal of time to set this up manually in UI and in application we have an ability to automate this easily so it would be great to have an API endpoint for that. Also we don't use feed services at all because we only provide files which are imported at scheduled time. This is an excellent function since we don't need to use Feed service and make many API calls. Just to clarify 2nd question which was about this file import function: will that import generate Assets instead of Feed items (if it will be kept once full migration is done)?

Best regards

Hi Algirdas,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Could you please provide more context when you say “we don't use feed services at all because we only provide files which are imported at scheduled time.”? This is so that my team can provide specific recommendations to your concern.

Hi,
we generate CSV files and put them in our location. As you can see at my screenshots we set this location with authentication info in Business data > Schedules. Then at some time once per day these files are downloaded by google ads and imported. And this import creates feed items, we don't generate and upload this via API, we only provide files. So the question is will this import create assets instead of feed items in the future.

Hi Algirdas,

Thanks for getting back to us with additional details.

Upon reading, it seems that you’re not uploading CSV files via API but using Google Ads UI to do this. However, our expertise is limited to API related concerns. In order to manage the extension feed items, you may use MutateExtensionFeedItems(MutateExtensionFeedItemsRequest) in Google Ads API. So for your question if such imports will either create asset or feed items in future, I recommend you to reach out to the Google Ads Product support team, via this link, so they might guide further on this.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards,
