We have a client that recently had some site issues which caused a large majority of their ads to be disapproved based on Google's destination requirements policies.

Things have rebounded once we could get the ads back to eligible, but has anyone had this happen? And does anyone have any site/server recommendations on how to prevent this from happening in the future?

Here are the policy issues we had with the ads:
  • Destination not found
  • Destination not accessible
  • Unable to crawl your landing page on iOS devices
  • Unable to crawl your landing page on desktop devices
  • HTTP error 403

Hi Andrea,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

If a certain policy failure is anticipated, you can use include a policy exemption request along with the creation of ad. This will trigger an automatic review and you won't have to react to a failed policy, assuming that the review is successful. Please see this guide for more details on how to use policy exemption requests in the Ads API.

Best regards,
