Targeting Optimization changes using ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting

Hello,

When we use ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting with optIn = false to change ad groups Targeting Optimization it actually set Let AdWords automatically find new customers with Conservative instead of unchecking Let AdWords automatically find new customers

If we manually set Let AdWords automatically find new customers with Aggressive in adwords account and then run API for ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting with optIn = false it untick the Let AdWords automatically find new customers correctly but not when current adwords setting is Let AdWords automatically find new customers with Conservative

Please let us know how can we uncheck the Let AdWords automatically find new customers in adwords account when current settings is Conservative.

Hello Anil,

I can't reproduce your stated issue.

When I set ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting with optIn = false, then in UI, the Let AdWords automatically find new customers item of Targeting Optimization setting will be shown unchecked.

When I set ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting with optIn = true, then in UI, the Let AdWords automatically find new customers item of Targeting Optimization setting will be checked with type Aggressive.

So I think this works as intended.

Could you please send more information like your SOAP logs, your code snippet, and ad group ID that has this problem to me by Reply privately to author?

Hi Anil,

Based on the SOAP log you sent to me, I couldn't find any settings related to ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting you've done in SOAP Request Log.

So everything about that shouldn't be changed (optIn will remain the same value).

What did you expect from doing that SOAP request?

I found on forum that if we remove ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting from settings then it would uncheck Let AdWords automatically find new customers.  To remove they have asked to mutate SET operation without ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting  in settings.

I'm not sure how old that post is. Perhaps, this behavior has been changed.

If you not passing anything related to ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting then there should be nothing changed about that setting.

I've tried this yesterday and it's not true.

Setting optIn to false resulting in the unchecking of  Let AdWords automatically find new customers in UI.

Could you please try again? And if you still get the result as what you said, please send your SOAP logs to me again.
