Hi Team,
I'm integrating image assets using the Google Ads API and have a few questions based on what I observed during implementation.
While testing, I used an existing image asset (Marketing Image - Test) from the asset library to create a new ad via the UI. Here’s what happened:
The UI automatically cropped the image to fit the ad format and created a new asset (Marketing Image - Test_1.91:1).
This new cropped image was successfully attached to the ad and shown in the preview.
I was able to retrieve this cropped image asset via the API.
However, I could not find the same cropped image in the UI's asset library, even after searching by name or asset ID.
Also, I noticed the cropped image has a larger file size than the original one.
Based on this, I have a few API-related questions:
Is there any way to know through the API if an image asset was auto-cropped by the system vs. uploaded manually by the user?
Why are these auto-cropped image assets available via the API, but not visible/searchable in the UI?
Is there a recommended way to manage or identify such auto-cropped assets when syncing asset data from the API?
Please let me know if you need any asset IDs or screenshots to investigate further.
Thanks,
Amit Tomar
Hi Team,
I hope you're doing well.
Just following up once more regarding my previous query about auto cropped image assets. I'd really appreciate any update or guidance when convenient.
Thanks again for your time and support.
