Adwords TargetingIdeasService Ideas are different between versions

I'm using the github googleads/googleads-php-lib library to retrieve keyword suggestions and statistics for lists of keywords. I haven't noticed any issues when updating my code from one library version to another until I migrated from the old deprecated branch to the new library. I'm now seeing a difference between the suggestions produced by the libraries. The new library produces the same suggestions for the most part but there are differences. Sometimes the new library produces suggestions that really don't fit with the keyword that I supply. For instance, say I searched on multiple keywords with the word supplement in them like "mental focus supplement, exercise recovery supplement, natural recovery supplement, natural energy supplement, no binder supplement". Typically in the old library would return keyword ideas related to "supplements" but the ideas returned by the new library are mostly "multivitamin" based. 

Is there anyway to make sure the ideas are more consistent with the keyword supplied?
