Conversion Data Delays

In this Adwords Help page:

it mentions (under the "Data delays" section) that:
Conversion tracking reports are delayed by 24 hours.

However, in the same help section (under "Data freshness") here:
https://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2544985

it mentions:
conversion metrics may not be reflected in your conversion statistics for 24-72 hours.

Can someone from the API team please confirm the exact delay period? It can have a huge implication on how our data update processes need to work.
