Does the AdWords API provide read after write consistency (strong consistency)?

Hi,

If, for example, I add an Ad using AdGroupAdService.mutate and then issue an AdGroupAdService.get (listing all ads in the AdGroup) or AdGrourpAdService.query - am I guaranteed that the Ad I added successfully will be returned? Or does it use an eventual consistency model rather than a strong consistency model?

Hi Ronen,

Thanks for reaching out. In general, you can expect the API to be return the result immediately. However, for some longer running processes (e.g. uploading click conversions), there will certainly be delay in retrieving that data (e.g. conversions reporting).

Please note that the AdWords API will sunset in April 2021. Additionally, any developer tokens granted recently will only be given access to the new Ads API.
