502 Bad gateway error

Hello,

During the last 4 days our adwords import failed twice (19th and 21st august) with the error:

"(502) Bad gateway. The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds."

We are using v201302 of the api on a Java platform.

Has anyone else encountered the same issue? Was there a downtime that might have caused such a behavior?

Since one week we're also receiving some punctual error "502 Bad Gateway" during API calls.
Currently we're monitoring the issue.

Ditto on this here too. 
Just a small percentage of our requests (<1%) exceed the in-process retry limit and get flagged with this error. 

Been happening for about a week.

Same here, we started seeing these 502 errors as early as January 18th, but they appeared more frequently in the past few days. Retrying usually works.

Yep, same here, we're processing a report in the early morning for a report of all keyword clicks / conversions for given date. Receiving soap error: Error Fetching http headers in the Adwords PHP client library and this is manifesting in a 502 Bad Gateway error on the output display.

We are also having these problems.
 
"System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 502: Bad Gateway."
 
The data we need is just partially extracted from the API.
Google, what could you tell me about this issue?

yes, unfortunately we still have the issue. The last 502 Error occured with our nightly sync about 4 hours ago. We manage a really hughe amount of keywords through the API, I hope it's not because of that.

Yes, we got it yesterday, 26th, again at 4:30 a.m. CET. For us it also always happens during the nightly import of the reports... Today it was ok.

Hi Anash,

Even we are facing bad gateway issue for quite some time(till yesterday Sep 02 2013). We are trying to update the bids at keywords level using the Bulk Mutate job service.

Can you please let us know if this has been fixed?

What is the meaning of this error? Even though I saw replies from API Team on other threads that the issue has been resolved, we continue to get this error intermittently.   Is there any way the issue can be fixed permanently?

Hi,

There's always the chance of intermittent errors, so our general recommendation is to handle 502s and other transient errors by retrying your request. If you see a very high number of these errors, however, please send the corresponding request (XML, HTTP headers) only to me by clicking Reply to Author on this message.
