Beginner: Developing an application with my team, "copying ad templates" for customers - Advice

Hi Everybody, hope you're all are safe and are doing fine these days.

My company has a specific use case and I'd like to get some basic advice as to how to accomplish this the best way, using Google API.

We're a company specialising in education of marketing and we provide various tools and services to our clients, namely: Education, Hosting, SEO services, website Builder and more.

My Goal:

Currently, we are developing an application which is at this point in time in pretty advanced development stages, that will allow us to provide benefit to our students by letting our company advertising experts, create Ad 'Templates' on our Google Ads manager account being full Campaigns, these templates would then be pulled into the software's database and limited info about these campaigns would be shown (ex. "Coffee Shop Search Ad Template"), and copied by our customers/students with a click of a button, sending the duplicate Campaign directly to their own Google Ads account, available for them for usage and specific alteration.

- Provided that Google allows the possibility, we don't want to and won't be managing their accounts nor do we have any access to customer/client AD accounts. Goal is, they will sign in to their own personal Google Ad accounts on the platform themselves and connect it, and pull those templates (After we 'GET' the campaigns json from our advertising experts and showcase them to customer) to their own personal accounts using set API.

- There is complete GDPR compliance and privacy ensurance. No company personnel have access to any customer details on Google Data, Customers should be able to copy pulled templates to their accounts upon-choice.

Would that be something we'd be able to achieve using the current API ability & given a live token is approved? We've already developed the full thing for Facebook Ads with the same goals and processes, which works flawlessly.

Hi Ilya,

Thank you for reaching out. Yes, you could achieve this by using the Adwords API. As you have many customers and you won't be managing their accounts nor do you have any access to customer/client AD accounts, you would consider using the Web Application type OAuth2 authentication. You could start using the client library and start making your first API call and then gradually building up your application. You could refer to this guide on how to set up the API.
