Can you confirm whether the API provides a mechanism to relate the ID used in the Google Product taxonomy (https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/1705911) to the DimensionValue used for shopping bidding categories?

For example, in the updated version of the product taxonomy, the "Cycling" category has an ID of 1025, whereas the shopping bidding categories (returned from ConstantDataService.getProductBiddingCategoryData) identifies the same category as 2282614456774172819.  I can see that the two references can be matched from the path: "Sporting Goods > Outdoor Recreation > Cycling", but can you confirm whether the reference can be matched directly from the two IDs?  If there is no mechanism available in the API to do this, can you confirm that the paths used in the product taxonomy will always match the paths of the shopping bidding categories?

Regards,

John

Hi John,

The IDs between the systems do not match, but the paths should match up to level 5. The Google Product taxonomy has additional levels 6 & 7 that are not supported in AdWords product groups (ProductPartitions).

Thanks,
