How to permantly delete an AdGroup

Hi,

at times I'd like to remove AdGroups. Currently I simply set the
status of an AdGroup to 'Deleted' and update the AdGroup using
updateAdGroup method of the AdGroupService.

This works, and the AdGroup gets the 'Deleted' status in Adwords.
---> But it's not deleted really isn't it? (The AdGroup just sits
there beeing present al the time).

Now, this is a problem for me, since I'd like to create a new AdGroup
having the same name as the deleted AdGroup.

This might sound silly, but it makes perfectly sense if you take in
account that most/all of my AdGroups are created automatically (ok,
there is an operator who has the final check).

So, is there another way to remove/delete the AdGroup so the name
conflict of the new and deleted AdGroups don't conflict?

When you set the status of the AdGroup to "deleted", also change the
name of it prior to calling updateAdGroup. Maybe give it a new name
like "old name" + "(deleted yyyymmdd)". That way, it is completely
unique, and the existing name is again available to use for a future
AdGroup.
