Marketo to Ads audience sync: Unable to connect to MCC

When I authenticate the Marketo Launchpoint Service "Google Customer Match" using a MCC account, the service for some reason only allows me to view and sync audiences to one of the child accounts managed by that MCC. When we run a script to see what what Google reports about this account, it includes this:

<canManageClients>false</canManageClients>

(I can include the whole response upon request which includes the CID)

We know that this account is absolutely a Manager account. When we log in to Ads using the same credentials used to authenticate the Launchpoint Service, we can see all the child accounts listed under the master account.

Can anyone advise how we can set that flag to "true"? It's preventing us from being able to sync Marketo to the desired master account in Ads.

Could you confirm if the issue is encountered in Marketo tool? If yes, then I would advise to reach out to their support team instead via this link to help you address the issue. Our team unfortunately doesn't have access or visibility this tool to investigate and address the issue on our end.

However, if you are using AdWords API on uploading audiences and you are requesting API transaction against MCC account but audiences that has been uploaded is on client account, then please provide the following details to investigate. You can provide it via Reply privately to author option.
  • Further details on how to replicate the issue
  • Complete SOAP request and response logs
  • Customer ID of the MCC account that you want to update audiences

Hi Ernie, thanks for your response. I have been liaising with Marketo support for several weeks to troubleshoot this issue, and they used the Adwords API to do this. I will obtain the requested information and send through privately as soon as I can.

Thank you for the information that you provided. However, I had to delete your most recent response as it contained your entire logs information.

Moving forward, the account specified in your API request header is not the 411-3XX-58XX account and instead another account which I have highlighted below :

<v201:clientCustomerId>9054XX16XX</v201:clientCustomerId> 

That being said, so our team can investigate the main cause of the issue you are encountering, could you share the complete SOAP request and response logs that returned API errors? Please also provide the step by step actions you took and when the (Unable to connect to MCC) issue was encountered. This would greatly help our team troubleshoot the issue. You may send these requested details via the Reply privately to author option only.

In addition, the canManageClients unfortunately cannot be set to true, since this is only a read only field.

Lastly, since your developer token was exposed publicly, I would highly recommend that you reset this token by following this guide.
